I know that all of us know what it’s like to get a new TV (at least those of us who are fortunate) No matter the size (although size has become more and more important it seems) for the first few months after getting this big-ger TV we keep it all nice and dusted off and we clean the screen often so the picture is as clear as we can get it. However, as the months go by and the newness wears off it’s not quite so important to us to make sure that it’s dust free or the picture is crystal clear.
Sometimes that’s how our relationship with the Lord has been. Perhaps when we were first saved we wanted as clear a picture of HIM as we could get, but as time went on we didn’t see a need to have such a clear picture. Maybe it was our Bible that was gathering as much dust as our TV was. Of course, we know it only takes a couple days for dust to gather, right? But glory be to God that He is always there waiting for us to return to HIM and get rid of those cobwebs and as we mature in HIM there is less and less dust and only a clearer and clearer picture of who He is and in turn of who we are.
The Lord appeared to us in the past saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. Jeremiah 31:3
Lord, thank you for this everlasting love that you love us with even when we focus on other things first before you. Lord, allow us to see the importance of your word and keep the dust at bay in our lives.
